Краткое описание
The development of human health problems and chronic illnesses is influenced by environmental oxidative stress. In order to improve health outcomes and protect against the detrimental effects of elevated reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels, antioxidants are essential. The review emphasizes how environmental stress affects bioavailability of antioxidant properties. Literature was collected from the databases of Google Scholar, Google search engine, PubMed, Science direct, and Scopus. The outcomes demonstrated that there are several potential sources of environmental stress that might negatively impact human health, including exposure to chemicals, industrial pollutants, air, water and soil pollution, severe temperatures, and loud noises. The primary cause of environmental oxidative stress is environmental stressors. Superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, and catalase are among the most important enzymatic antioxidants humans might produce in vitro. An increase in the supply of polyphenols may result from greater eating of fruits and vegetables. Polyphenols have been shown to lower ROS levels, reduce inflammation, aid in metal ion chelation, and stimulate the transcription of antioxidant enzymes. Polyphenols are not very bioavailable. The solubility, intestinal absorption, metabolic conversion, and bioavailability of polyphenols are determined by their molecular composition. However, polyphenols may be more bioavailable if the gut flora aids in their breakdown into more absorbable metabolites.
