Structural changes: The carbon dioxide reduction reaction (CRR) is probed by cyclic voltammetry at a platinum microelectrode (SECM) and structural changes of the cuprous oxide sample by Raman microscopy during reductive potential steps. Microelectrode response suggests the formation of hydrogen and formate ions. Spectroscopic data show the early conversion of Cu2O to elemental copper.
