Abstract
Walk around the indole: A unified strategy was developed for the synthesis of indoles and related heterocycles from simple heteroaryl propargylic esters. Various substituents could be introduced to the C4–C7 positions of the indoles and the benzene portion of other related heterocycles (see scheme).
