Synthesis and Characterization of Diaminobisfuroxane

The synthesis of 3,3′-diamino-4,4′-bisfuroxane and its isomer 4,4′-diamino-3,3′-bisfuroxane was explored for the first time. In addition, the structure of highly dense (2.007 g cm–3 at 100 K) and energetic 4,4′-dinitro-3,3′-bisfuroxane was determined. The energetic properties of the compounds, including their thermal behavior and sensitivities, were determined, and their heat of formation and explosive properties were calculated.
