Abstract
A series of promising benzoazacrown ethers with the nitrogen atom conjugated with the benzene ring were synthesized using a novel synthetic procedure based on stepwise transformation of the macroheterocycle. The structures and spectral properties of the resulting benzoazacrown ethers and their complexes with Ca2+ were studied by X-ray diffraction and 1H, 13C, and 15N NMR spectroscopy including the 2D NOESY technique.
