Abstract
Gold-manganese alloys with a composition Au4−x, Mn adopt one- and two-dimensional long period antiphase boundary structures, derived from the Au4Mn structure, with ideal compositions Au33, Mn9 and Au31, Mn9, respectively, which are deduced from mono-domain electron diffraction patterns and from high resolution electron micrographs. Under suitable conditions bright field images made in superstructure spots reveal the configuration of manganese columns. When also f.c.c. spots contribute to the image, the positions of the manganese columns with respect to the fundamental f.c.c. lattice can be imaged directly. A number of intervariant and interphase interfaces are analysed in terms of atom configurations. Gold-Mangan-Legierungen mit einer Zusammensetzung Au4−x Mn nehmen ein- und zweidimensionale Langperioden- Antiphasengrenzenstrukturen an, die aus der Au4Mn-Struktur abgeleitet sind, mit den idealen Zusammensetzungen Au4Mn9 bzw. Au31Mn9, wie aus Eindomanen-Elektronenbeugungsdiagrammen und aus hochaufgelosten Elektronenmikrographien gefolgert wird. Unter geeigneten Bedingungen ergeben Hellfelddiagramme von Superstrukturpunkten die Konfiguration der Manganspalten. Wenn k.f.z.-Punkte ebenfalls zu den Diagrammen beitragen, last sich die Position der Manganspalten bezuglich des k.f.z.-Grundgitters direkt abbilden. Eine Anzahl von Zwischenvariations- und Zwischenphasengrenzflachen werden mit den Atomkonfigurationen analysiert.
