Two‐Step Preparation of Diverse 3‐Amidofurans from Chitin

Abstract
The synthesis of 3-amidofurans is laborious due to the difficulty installing the nitrogen heteroatom at the C3 position. Herein it is reported that functionally rich 3-amidofurans are readily available in two-steps from chitin, providing streamlined access to this heteroaromatic chemical space in synthetic processes that are also independent of Haber ammonia.
