General Chemistry
Abstract
Indole and pyrazole are individually privileged scaffolds in the field of medicinal chemistry. Therefore, compounds containing both indole and pyrazole moieties are of particular interest since synergistic pharmacological activities may be gained. It is thus important to understand various synthetic approches for the preparation of indole-pyrazole hybrids. These hybrids have been classified into direct-linked and spacer-linked hybrids. Each of these are sub-divided based on the postion of pyrazole on indole. Detailed synthesis of all the types of indole-pyrazole hybrids are summarized.
