Abstract
The global innovation index (GII) is an indicator which annual ranking of countries by their capacity and success in innovation and innovative activities and published annually from 2007. According to the GII index, for the observed period 2009–2019, Serbia was in quartile Q2, except in 2009–2010 and 2016 when it was in Q3 and Q4. In the paper is given trend analysis and approximation of Serbia’s global innovation index (GII) for period 2011–2019, Data about GII index is adequately approximated with 5th-degree polynomial regression model (PRM5) with R = 0.92085, R2 = 0.84797 and AdjR2 = 0.59459.
