Abstract
Platinum-based catalystsPlatinum-based catalysts in some cases can improve the functional characteristics of the fuel cellFuel cell (PEM FC). This study presents different methods for the synthesis of trimetallic catalysts with different architectures of nanoparticlesNanoparticles (NPs) for the reactions of methanolMethanol and ethanol electrooxidation in alkaline electrolytesAlkaline electrolytes. The catalysts were studied using powder diffraction, transmission electron microscopyTransmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), X-ray fluorescence analysis, and cyclic voltammetryCyclic Voltammetry (CV). According to the results of chronoamperometry, the material obtained in one stage of synthesis shows higher initial values of the specific currents of oxidation of alcohols than the material obtained in two stages and commercial Pt/CPt/C. In ethanol oxidation reactionEthanol Oxidation Reaction (EOR) for the material obtained in one stage, this value is 1.2 and 2 times higher than the corresponding values of the material obtained in two stages and Pt/CPt/C catalyst, respectively. In the methanol oxidation reactionMethanol Oxidation Reaction (MOR), the initial value of specific currents for this material is 1.5 times higher in comparison with other catalysts presented in the article.
