Abstract
SummaryA method is proposed which provides a stereochemical design of polydentate (including macrocyclic) reagents with given complexation geometry. The approach is based on regularities in spatial structure of chelate rings and other fragments forming the complex. The search of the desirable reagent consists in building a sterically unstrained structure of complex by means of consecutive connection of donor atoms by appropriate bridges. Some examples of “paper synthesis” are given.
