Abstract
It was shown that the interaction of N 2-(cyanomethyl)-β-carbolinium bromide with o-hydroxybenzaldehydes in the presence of ammonium acetate upon refluxing in ethanol proceeded as a domino reaction and led to the formation of chromenoimidazocarbolines.
