Abstract
It was found that the reaction of 2-hydroxy-5,7,8-trimethyl-2 H -1,2-benzoxaphosphinine 2-oxide with resorcinol and its derivatives as well as sesamol leads to the formation of phosphaneoflavanones in high yields. The obtained phosphaneoflavanones are precursors in the synthesis of novel unsymmetrical cage phosphonates. The structures of the obtained products were confirmed by IR spectroscopy, 1 H, 13 C NMR spectroscopy, and X-ray structural analysis.
