Abstract
Abstract Features of propane conversion in the presence of rare-earth metal vanadite and vanadate, both produced via solid-phase synthesis, are studied. It is shown that MeVO 3 catalyzes mainly the propane cracking process to form methane and ethylene, while MeVO 4 equally accelerates both cracking and dehydrogenation of propane. The thermal stability of MeVO 4 in a hydrogen atmosphere is studied by a temperature-programmed reduction, while the MeVO 3 stability in an oxidizing environment is studied by DTA. Energies of activation for the MeVO 3 reduction and the MeVO 4 oxidation are calculated using the Kissinger method.
