Abstract
Over the past several decades, carbonylation reactions have been a major research focus for synthesizing carbonyl compounds. Recently, the advent of light-induced carbonylation reactions has progressed rapidly due to the proliferation of photochemical synthesis techniques. This review article offers a detailed overview of the significant recent developments in this burgeoning field, elucidates the underlying mechanisms, and aims to provide valuable insights and guidance for the design of innovative light-induced carbonylation reactions.
