Abstract
Bis(pentafluorophenyl)ytterbium has been isolated as the highly air-senstive complex (C 6 F 5 ) 2 Yb(THF) 4 (THF = tetrahydrofuran) from a transmetallation reaction between bis(pentafluorophenyl)mercury and ytterbium metal in tetrahydrofuran.
