Abstract
The preparative synthetic routes to tritylcyclopentadienyl metal derivatives of sodium, tin and titanium have been studied. Molecular structures of Ph3CC5H4SnMe3 (3) and Ph3CC5H4TiCl3 (4) have been defined. The ClPh agostic interaction in the structure of 4 provides an unprecedented low reactivity of 4 to nucleophiles of different natures.
