Abstract
The superconducting Tc of sputtered Mo-Re films peaks sharply to ∼15°K for deposition temperatures approaching the boundary of the σ phase with the mixture of the A12 (α-Mn structure) and Mo phases. X-ray data are used to relate the enhanced Tc and the structural instability.
