Parity non-conserving neutral current weak interactions can produce an energy difference between a “handed” molecule and its mirror image. We develop the theory of these energy differences and report calculations on two molecules for which related calculations on the optical rotation have been made. We find values for the energy differences which are appreciably smaller than previous estimates.
