Abstract
The solid-state reaction of CaHPO 4 with CaCO 3 in a ratio > 2: 1 at 1350 °C led to the formation of α-tricalcium phosphate, the subsequent sintering of which at 850 °C gave a homogeneous phase of β-tricalcium phosphate, which does not contain crystalline impurities.
