Abstract
The preparation, characterization and performance of HDC catalysts, a new generation of high-cobalt Fischer-Tropsch (FT) catalysts with dispersions at, or close to the postulated optimum dispersion of 0.15 are described. The catalysts are made in a single deposition step by deposition-precipitation of Co compounds at high pH via a cobalt ammine complex. This method leads to a uniform distribution of Co crystallites of 3–5 nm. Due to the high dispersion and Co loadings, the catalysts have a high weight and volume activity.
