Abstract
The paddlewheel complex Pd(μ-OOCMe) 4 Ba(HOOCMe) 4 readily reacts with 18-crown-6, while the reaction products Pd(μ-OOCMe) 4 Ba(η 6 -18-crown-6) and (η 1 -OOCMe) 2 Pd(μ-OOCMe) 2 Ba(OH 2 )(η 6 -18-crown-6) unexpectedly retain the heterometallic Pd@Ba metal skeleton.
