Abstract
Reaction of the platinum(II,IV) acetate blue Pt(OOCMe)2.5 with Co(OOCMe)2 · 4H2O followed by acetate–pivalate ligand substitution gave the first PtIV–CoII heterodimetallic purely carboxylate complex Pt IV Co 2 II ( μ , η 2 - OOCCMe 3 ) 4 ( OOCCMe 3 ) 2 ( OH ) 2 ( HOOCCMe 3 ) 4 with the [Pt(OOCCMe3)4] structure-forming building block as established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction study.
