Abstract
Reaction of Pd 3 (μ-OOCMe) 6 with Ce III acetate in acetic acid is strongly water-dependent, producing the tetranuclear bis-paddlewheel [Pd(μ-OOCMe) 4 Ce(OH 2 ) 2 (μ,η 2 -OOCMe)] 2, pentanuclear cation-anionic [Pd(μ-OOCMe) 4 Ce(HOOCMe) 2 (OH 2 ) 2 ] + [Pd 2 Ce(μ-OOCMe) 8 ] − × 2MeCOOH × 1.5H 2 O and 17-nuclear {[Pd(μ-OOCMe) 4 Ce(OOCMe) 4 ] 2 [Pd 4 (μ-OOCMe) 4 ] 2 (μ 4 -O) 8 CePd 4 }(OH) 3 complexes.
