Magnetoferritin is a synthetic derivate of ferritin, an iron storage protein. It is composed of apoferritin shell and iron-based magnetic nanoparticles, providing higher sensitivity to an applied magnetic field allowed to study the hyperthermic effect in magnetoferritin aqueous colloidal solution. Our work presents the first results from measurement of a temperature dependence on time for various magnetic field intensities at a frequency f = 190 kHz. Size distribution of magnetoferritin was performed using dynamic light scattering technique, colloidal stability by zeta potential measurements, morphology by transmission electron microscopy, phase composition of magnetoferritin by X-ray diffraction measurements and magnetic properties using SQUID magnetometer. It was shown, that low hyperthermic effect of magnetoferritin could be related to small sizes of magnetoferritin cores, which polyphase structure was largely composed of lepidocrocite-like mineral.
