Abstract
The effect of temperature, HNO 3 concentration and radiation dose rate on the decomposition of hydrazine nitrate in aqueous nitric acid solutions has been studied. Kinetic characteristics have been obtained for evaluating the yields of the main decomposition products of hydrazine nitrate - hydrazoic acid and ammonium nitrate. The results of the study are important for analyzing the explosion safety of technological processes with nitric acid solutions containing hydrazine nitrate. • Complete decomposition of N 2 H 5 NO 3 occurs in tens of hours. • Changes in [N 2 H 5 NO 3 ] and its radiation-thermal decomposition products were determined. • Yields (G, mol/100eV) of the main decomposition products of N 2 H 5 NO 3 were calculated. • In all tests NH 4 NO 3 and HN 3 contents in solutions are below the level of explosion.
