Abstract
Ion transport in nano-sized systems is considered in a top-down approach. The equilibrium charge carrier concentrations are investigated as a function of the distance between neighboring interfaces and increased curvature of the grains. A variety of experimental examples involving accumulation, depletion and inversion layers are discussed, highlighting the significance of the nano-regime for Solid State Ionics.
