Abstract
A review of methods for ceramic proton conductor modification is presented. Point defects play the key role in the conductivity increase. The increase in point defect concentration can be achieved in different ways. Heterogeneous and heterovalent homogeneous doping, synthesis of nanomaterials and inorganic–organic composite materials can be considered as the most promising of these.
