Perfluorinated secondary amines prepared by the reaction of the corresponding internal azaalkenes with fluorine gas in the presence of a metal fluoride undergo a cleavage reaction with SbFs at elevated temperatures. The reaction results in the formation of a mixture of perfluoroalkane and N-fluoroalkanimine. Reaction of (CF 3 ) 2 CF-N(F)C 2 F 5 with SbF 5 is exothermic at 22 o C giving a mixture of C 2 F 6 and Perfluoro-2-azabutene-2.
