Abstract
[(C 5 Me 5 ) 2 Sm] 2 (μ-η 2 :η 2 -PhC 4 Ph) is formed from the reaction of [(C 5 Me 5 ) 2 Sm(μ-H)] 2 with PhC≡CH, from the thermolysis of (C 5 Me 5 ) 2 Sm(C≡CPh)(THF) at 80-145°C, from the reaction of (C 5 Me 5 ) 2 Sm with PhC≡CH, and from the reaction of (C 5 Me 5 ) 2 Sm[CH(SiMe 3 ) 2 ] with PhC≡CH, a reaction that has been reported to form [(C 5 Me 5 ) 2 Sm(μ-C≡CPh)] 2
