Abstract
Reactions of niobocene hydrides with halo-germanes present a new effective method for the synthesis of mono(germyl)- and bis(germyl)niobocenes. Chloro-demethylation of Cp 2 NbH(GeMe 3 ) 2 under the action of Cl 2 SnMe 2 is very facile and leads to the first asymmetric niobocene having two different germanium centers.
