Abstract

Synthetic routes for preparation of different types of alkoxy fullerene derivatives starting from chlorofullerene C60Cl6 have been developed. Water-soluble fullerene derivatives bearing five OCH2CH2COOH groups have demonstrated a promising anti-HIV activity.
