Modification of monolayer graphene oxide (GO) was made using linear PEG method of PEG-NH2 amino group covalent coupling to GO surface carboxylic groups resulting in amide linkage formation. It was demonstrated that aromatic structure of initial GO did not change. Dimension of pegylated GO plates was changed in average size as compared to the initial one (1-5 mkm) lowering up to 569±14 nm. Amount of polyethylene glycol covering the GO was calculated as 19-20%. Technique has been developed to modify monolayer GO using linear polyethylene glycol and purposefully used it at differently sized GO.
