Abstract

The results of studies dealing with the self-assembly of semiconducting monolayers of conjugated oligomers are integrated and analyzed. General information about the design of organic field effect transistors is given and the details of calculation of their key parameters are described. The main classes of conjugated oligomers used as semiconductors in organic field effect transistors are considered. The modern achievements in the fabrication of microelectronic devices based on self-assembled monolayer semiconductors are demonstrated and the results of the most successful use of such systems are presented.
