Abstract All possible order parameters of proper ferroelastic phase transitions in the crystals with pyrochlore structure are defined. The detailed research of phase diagrams is carried out for Landau thermodynamic potential with symmetry 3m. A general picture of possible types of phase diagrams for Landau thermodynamic potential with L = 3m symmetry group is obtained. The realization conditions for each type of phase diagrams are established, the conditions for the multicritical point splitting are given. An example of a typical complex phase diagram for a thermodynamic potential with symmetry 3m is presented. Examples of the pyrochlores undergoing ferroelastic phase transitions with the considered symmetries of the order parameters are given.
