Abstract
AbstractThe initial stage of the formation of the latent image in a silver halide is the appearance of silver particles of atomic or molecular dimensions. A theoretical study of the stability of a silver atom in the vicinity of a dislocation in an ideal crystal of a silver halide has been made by quantum-mechanical methods. The consequences of a dislocation, treated as a perturbation of the crystal field of the ideal crystal, are Investigated by a method involving the use of Green's functions
