Abstract
The water regime of urbastratozem (Moscow, Russia) was investigated. The profile in the 10–50 cm layer contains various anthropogenic artifacts. The uncharacteristic profile for natural soil complicates the prediction of the water regime of urban soils. For the soil, the basic properties were obtained using laboratory and field studies. Moreover, various input data sets were generated for the SWAP and Hydrus models using pedotransfer functions. Preliminary simulation (SWAP, Hydrus) showed the best result using laboratory-defined water retention curves and determined saturated hydraulic conductivity in the field (SWAP) and calculation through pedotransfer functions (Hydrus). The article discusses the procedure for setting up two mathematical models by selecting input parameters, taking into account the presence of artifacts in the profile.
