Abstract
Samples of cast ingots, preliminarily homogenized based on the standard practice, were applied for the analysis. The samples were hot rolled according to different process schedules. After rolling the samples, they were annealed at 350, 400 and 450 °C, and the microstructure achieved was studied using light- microscopy. The ratio of recrystallized grain volume versus soaking time ratios was evaluated. Johnson-Mehl-Avrami-Kolmogorov equation was used as an analytical notation that describes the recrystallization kinetics of АА5182 alloy samples. The main features, specific for as-cast structure processing during the initial processing stages, were identified.
