Abstract
Optimizing Combined Heat and Power Economic Dispatch (CHPED) presents a multifaceted challenge to minimize operational costs while navigating various operational and power network constraints. It considers valve-point loading, transmission losses, generation capacity limits, and heat-power dependencies. Traditional and experience-based optimization algorithms address these challenges. This paper reviews heuristic optimization's application in CHPED, exploring popular methods and their implementation. It analyzes contributions, focusing on equality and inequality constraints. This study evaluates optimization techniques, comparing convergence speed, solutions, and constraints. Optimal solutions for operational costs are presented using various optimization methods.
