Abstract
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a critical modulation technique for high-speed communication systems, particularly in the context of 5G networks. Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) offer significant advantages for implementing OFDM systems due to their flexibility, parallel processing capabilities, and efficiency. This review paper synthesizes recent advancements in FPGA-based OFDM implementations, focusing on various design approaches, performance metrics, and practical considerations. The review encompasses the different aspects of FPGA implementations of OFDM systems for high speed communications. It also explores FFT acceleration techniques, low-power designs, and phase compensation strategies. By analyzing the state-of-the-art techniques and their applications, this paper aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of how FPGA technology is enhancing OFDM systems for modern communication standards and future innovations
