Abstract
The development of a rapid, accessible, and highly sensitive diagnostic tool is a major challenge in the control and management of tuberculosis. Gene-based diagnostics is recommended for the rapid diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB), but its sensitivity, such as Xpert MTB/RIF assay (Xpert), drops in cases with a low bacterial load.
