Abstract
Winter field campaigns conducted by the Department of Hydrology of the Moscow State University Geographical Faculty undertaken during winter periods of 2017–2020 are introduced. The estuarine zone of the Onega, Mezen, Varzuga, Umba, Kuzreka, Kyanda, and Tamitsa rivers, which flow into the White Sea, have been investigated. The methodology and preliminary analyses of tidal wave estuarine transformation, mixing zone dynamics, and ice cover formation are presented.
