Abstract
3-Aroylpyrrolo[2,1-c][1,4]benzoxazine-1,2,4-triones (1H-pyrrole-2,3-diones fused by the N–C bond to 1,4-benzoxazin-2-one fragment) were reported to react as heterodienes (O=C–C=C) with alkyl vinyl ethers according to the Diels–Alder pattern to produce the corresponding [4 + 2]-cycloadducts among which the exo adducts prevailed [1–3]. Reactions of 3-aroylpyrrolo[2,1-c][1,4]benzoxazine-1,2,4-triones with styrene were not studied previously.
