Abstract
Isoindigo and its derivatives attract attention as substrates for various synthetic, structural, physicochemical, and biological studies. In recent years, the number of publications on the use of isoindigo in the synthesis of conjugated polymers for organic electronics has considerably grown [1]. Since the discovery of antitumor and antimicrobial activity of isoindigo derivatives [2–7], numerous studies have been concerned with the design of new isoindigo derivatives. Azaheterocyclic (morpholine, piperidine, piperazine) derivatives synthesized on the basis of 1-(2-bromoethyl)isoindigo showed improved solubility in water as compared to 1-methylisoindigo, and their activity against leukemia K562 was comparable with that of 1-methylisoindigo [8].
