Abstract
1,2,3,4-Tetramethyl-5-nitronaphthalene and 1,2,3,4-tetramethyl-6-nitronaphthalene were prepared by the pyrolysis of 5- and 8-nitro-1,2,3,4,10,10-hexamethyl-1,4-dihydro-1,4-ethanonaphthalen-9-ones and their 6- and 7-nitro-isomers respectively.
