Abstract
The adsorption of gold nanoparticles stabilized by sodium citrate on polyurethane foam (PUF) in the absence and the presence of polyhexamethyleneguanidine hydrochloride (PHMG) was studied with respect to the time of the phase contact, pH, and concentration of nanoparticles. It is shown that PUF and gold nanoparticles can be used to determine PHMG via diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (Cmin = 0.008 μg/mL). PHMG is determined in the model mixtures based on mineral and tap water, as well as water from the pool.
