Dawne pieczęcie miejskie Izbicy na Kujawach (do 1816 roku) – stan badań

Artykuł dotyczy dawnych pieczęci miejskich Izbicy Kujawskiej (do 1816 r.), złożonej z miast Izbica i Nowa Izbica. Zawiera podsumowanie stanu wiedzy znanej z literatury przedmiotu i uzyskanej w wyniku kwerend archiwalnych. Jednocześnie odnosi się do Izbicy leżącej w województwie lubelskim i ukazuje problemy badawcze w identyfikacji pieczęci dwóch różnych miejscowości o takich samych nazwach. W artykule zostały przedstawione ustalenia znanych badaczy z okresu ponad stu lat, od W. Wittyga (1914) i M. Gumowskiego, poprzez S. K. Kuczyńskiego, M. Adamczewskiego i P. Bokotę, po H. Serokę (2022). Ustalenia te, jak również wnioski autorskie, zilustrowano reprodukcjami pieczęci oraz dokumentów, na których je odciśnięto. Generalnie artykuł wpisuje się w badania nad symboliką miejską Izbicy Kujawskiej, stanowiącej część polskiej heraldyki samorządowej. The Ancient City Seals of Izbica in Kujawy (up to 1816) – Status of Research: The article concerns the ancient city seals of Izbica in Kujawy (until 1816), founded and composed from the cities of Izbica and Nowa Izbica. It contains a summary of the state of knowledge taken from the literature according the subject and obtained as a result of archival research. At the same time, it refers to Izbica located in the Lublin Voivodeship and shows research problems in identifying the seals of two different cities with the same names. The article presents the findings of famous researchers from a period of over a hundred years, from W. Wittyga (1914) and M. Gumowski, through S. K. Kuczyński, M. Adamczewski and P. Bokota, to H. Seroka (2022). These findings, as well as the authors’ conclusions, were illustrated with reproductions of the seals and documents on which they were impressed. Generally, the article is part of the research on the urban symbolism of Izbica Kujawska, which is part of the Polish local government heraldic art.
