Planar-chiral Nand O-containing macrocycles were obtained via enantioselective Pd(0)-catalyzed amination of 1,5-dichloroanthraquinone and converted into corresponding di(bromobenzyl) substituted derivatives. The latter compounds were introduced in the Pd(0)-catalyzed macrocyclization reactions with several linear oxadiamines and certain pairs of reagents gave macrobicyclic compounds with a central planar-chiral structural fragment.
