Abstract

Eight new C<sub>60</sub>(CF<sub>3</sub>)<sub>16</sub> isomers have been synthesized by high-temperature trifluoromethylation of [60]fullerene with gaseous CF<sub>3</sub>I, isolated by HPLC, and structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction using synchrotron radiation.
