Bacteriology

The COLLECTION OF MICROORGANISMS OF THE PASTEUR Research Institute OF EPIDEMIOLOGY AND MICROBIOLOGY of the Pasteur Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology has been collecting, studying the properties and storing pathogenic microorganisms since the 70s of the twentieth century. The collection represents a highly valuable conserved gene pool of microorganisms isolated by employees of microbiological and virological laboratories. The Micros Collective Use Center is based on the Pasteur Research Institute of Microbiology and Epidemiology. The laboratories included in the structure have modern high-precision equipment and qualified personnel for the collection, identification and collection of strains of microorganisms of 3 and 4 pathogenicity groups.

The laboratory works in several scientific areas: 1. Development of methods for microbiological monitoring of multidrug-resistant bacteria in natural ecosystems and human society 2. Paleomicrobiology and development of methods for microbiological monitoring of reactivation of ancient pathogens 3. Study of biological diversity and phylogenomics of bacteriophages tropic to pathogens of human infectious diseases
